Our History
Since being founded in 1991 to manufacture explosive carriers and ancillary items for the mining industry, M.B. Products has grown steadily, acquiring new skills and diversifying into new market sectors.
| 2020 | Started to produce PPE equipment for various sectors to help in the fight against COVID 19. | |
| 2019 | Invested in new state of the art machinery to help increase our production capabilities. | |

| 2014 | Move to Purpose built 16,000 sqr.ft. (1,400 sqr.mtr.) unit. | |
| 2008 | Acquired MIdgleys, who were manufacturers of military products along with their workload, specialized machinery and production staff, thus increasing our turnover, skills and capabilities. | |
| 2006 | Started production of the “Plant Nappy” for Manvers Engineering Ltd, which required the acquisition of new skills and investment in specialist machinery. From modest beginnings demand for “Plant Nappy” has grown significantly and it is now recognised as an industry standard. | |
| 2000 | Acquired Rapier Engineering, a specialist Light Fabrication Company who manufactured mainly metal boxes to house electronic equipment, thus increasing our skills base and acquiring new machinery. Acquiring Rapier also facilitated our diversification into wheelchair modifications, which in turn widened the scope of services we were able to offer the healthcare market. | |
| 1999 | Won our first NHS contract which lead to our inclusion on their approved supplier list. Our inclusion on the list opened up new markets supplying approved wheelchair repairers. | |
| 1995 | Developed our own range of waterproof safety clothing which was marketed by the Road Rescue and Recovery Association. | |
| 1992 | Diversified into waterproof clothing and luggage for the angling market, supplying brand names such as Shakespeare, Middy and Rod Hutchinson as well as promoting our own brand of Team Clothing and Luggage. | |
| 1991 | Included on the approved supplier list for British Rail, winning a contract to supply leather bags and satchels. | |
| 1991 | Included on the approved supplier list for British Coal. | |
